Addressing tips for Thailand
- Thai addresses can include province, district and sub-district levels; use the recipient's wording and order rather than shortening administrative names.[1]
- The five-digit postcode is written below the district and province line in the UPU examples.[1]
- Bangkok is treated at province level, while Bangkok districts and sub-districts may still appear in the address.[1]
- For rural addresses, a village or moo detail may be needed; keep it in the street or second address line if the recipient provides it.[1]

Questions about sending mail to Thailand
- How long does mail to Thailand take?
- We estimate 8โ15 business days after mailing. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date, and the count starts on the day we mail your letter, not the day you order.
- Can I send a letter to Thailand from another country?
- Yes. You order online from wherever you are, and we print and mail the letter for you, so you don't need stamps or a trip to the post office. Once your order is assigned, its page shows the country it was mailed from.
- Can I add a return receipt to a letter to Thailand?
- Yes. Choose Registered letter and add the return receipt. The recipient signs on delivery and the signed receipt is posted back to the sender address on your letter. A sender address is required.
- Can I track a letter to Thailand?
- Yes, with a tracked or registered letter. Tracking updates depend on the postal networks along the way, so they may not cover every step. Your order page shows the updates we receive.
- Do I need to enter a state or province for Thailand?
- Yes, the address form asks for it and we print it as part of the address. Pick the address from the suggestions to fill it in automatically.
- Where does the Thai postcode go?
- On its own line below the district and province line, using five digits.[1]
- Do Thai addresses need district and sub-district details?
- The UPU sheet says province, district and sub-district are required levels, with village details also needed in rural areas.[1]
- How should I enter Thai district details in MaisonMail?
- Use the city/locality field for the district line and the province field for the province. Put sub-district or village details in the second address line when needed.
