Objection (Widerspruch)
A Widerspruch is a formal objection asking a German authority to review its own Bescheid, where that preliminary procedure is available. Think of it as an administrative appeal lodged with the office before any court case. In Germany, the period is generally one month after notification, and the objection must arrive in time through a channel allowed by the Rechtsbehelfsbelehrung; some decisions require an Einspruch or a direct court claim instead.
