Text form (Textform)
Textform is a German form requirement met by a readable declaration on a durable medium that names the person making it, such as an email, letter or fax, without a handwritten signature. Think of it as “in writing, but no signature needed”. In Germany, standard terms in consumer contracts concluded from 1 October 2016 generally cannot require a stricter form for a cancellation; text form does not satisfy statutory written form (Schriftform).
