Notice of non-renewal (disdetta)
A disdetta is a notice that you do not want a fixed-term contract to renew when it expires. Think of it as switching off the automatic renewal, not leaving before the end date. In Italy, it must usually reach the other party by the deadline and in the form set by the contract, often 30 or 60 days before expiry for insurance policies; compulsory car insurance (RC auto) ends at expiry without one, and ending a contract earlier is a recesso, available only where the law or the contract allows it.
